Oster Cryogen-X Pet Clipper Blades Oster® is the first blade manufacturer to incorporate AgION® antimicrobial into the surface of the CryogenX™ blades. AgION® antimicrobial uses silver, a powerful metal ion, as the active ingredient to effectively control the growth of bacteria, mold and mildew. This is important protection needed when clipping animals next to each other. The CryogenX™ treatment is a tempering process which deep freezes these high-carbon steel blades to -300 degrees Fahrenheit. Innovative "grooves" have been added to the comb portion to allow for more heat dispersion. This blade works great for clipping double coats like Chow Chows have. It does not clip right down to the skin but it is close so be careful unless you want that shaved look. For clipping where you want to leave the hair longer I use a steel tine comb to hold the hair up to the lenght you wnat.

You can also cut out knots in the fur like behind the ears. You may have to work a bit to get the blade started but then it cuts like a dream.

Fits my Golden A5 clippers.

As always Amazon had this blade in stock and shipped it right away.

I purchased two Oster No. 10 Animal Clipper blades and found one to be extremely sharp and the other just fair. Over the past two years I have purchased five Oster 10 blades and found only one to be substandard.

The problem could be quality control or just a manufacturing defect. I will buy one more when the time comes and see what happens.

I spent a lot of money on dog clippers in an effort to save money on his haircuts. They worked great for a year until it was becoming harder and harder to get through his thick hair. ordered this blade hoping that would solve the problem and voila! It's like having brand new clippers again!
